Deborah Gilmore, ARNP
Sleep Apnea specialist, joining NWFENT in January 2024!
Deborah Gilmore is originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee. She initially attended the Baroness Erlanger School of Nursing, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She spent her years as an RN in ICU, CCU, Cardiac step-down unit and also served in the position of Director of Case Management at HCA Fort Walton-Destin Medical Center for six years.
During a medical mission trip to Guatemala, working alongside a nurse practitioner, Deborah was inspired to continue her education so she could have a greater impact on patient’s health. She graduated Summa cum Laude with her Masters in Nursing from the University of South Alabama.
After graduation, Deborah accepted a pulmonary and sleep medicine position at a multispecialty medical practice in Fort Walton Beach, where she worked for eight-and-a-half years. She soon learned Sleep Medicine was her favorite area of practice because she actually saw patients realize improvement both in the way they felt on a daily basis but also an improvement in their overall health, including improved control of hypertension, atrial fibrillation, and cerebrovascular health by treating Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Complex Sleep Apnea with various treatment modalities.
Deborah is certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and has been a member since 2013. She is also a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. Deborah was inducted into the Sigma National Nursing Honor Society and has been a member since graduation.
